BREAKING NEWS…It’s Official!

This weekend we decided to take a road trip up to Paso Robles. It was almost a year to the date since we went up with a great group of wine club members when the shop first opened. We had just a great a time as we did, with the exception of the crew or to be “official”, wine club members. Especially after that trip, everyone was looking forward to annual trips to wine country that our store would have provided. {NOT!}
We met some incredible winemakers and tasted awesome upcoming wine artist you all will soon be enjoying!
However, this trip, to be honest, was a trip, that was suppose to get us back on track with wine, hosting events, and just a rejuvenating trip into the central coast wine country that Victor loves. At one time, this trip was the trip that had us reaching for the stars! Making money from a hobby is what the American Dream is all about. Unfortunately, this trip did just the opposite. With all the craziness of being a business owner, and all the responsibilities, Victor waved a white flag in RETREAT!!!!

With the entire legal hullabaloo that is going on in our world, it is an unfortunate event but it doesn’t look as if this Paso Robles trip put a fire and passion in Mr. Cerda’s belly after all!
Reality is….BREAKING NEWS! As of October 1, 2009, we will be in proceeding and filing for BANCRUPTCY!!! We went for ALL or NOTHING!!!!
The business partnership of Priscilla & Victor, that we once knew, will have to be put to rest, in order for us to put our personal life back together. Life together BB {before the business} was very simple. We, the 4 of us, just love enjoying each others company, and taking small trips together as a family. That is what life once was? WOW!
Besides, I’m the one with the very private, yet HIGH power, profile, pressure job, and that has always been our life. Running a business has always been my job. Dealing with PRESSURE, has always been my responsibility. I love what I do, BUT, I balance.
Truth is, running a business becomes your life and your awesome customers become your family. It’s all about balance. If you let being a business owner get to your head… well, chances are, you will have a rude awakening IFF, you don’t balance. Taking walks, camping and riding into the sunset with no time restraints, or panicked calls in the middle of a vacation, that’s where we’re at. And as a wife, I have to respect that, my life and what I want, may not be my husbands wants or needs. Eventually it balances out!
So with that said, our life with “The Chronicles” is officially done.

You can find Victor pouring at The Wine Styles in Rancho Cucamonga every Wednesday Night & every other Saturday.

FINI!

The Art of Buisness
{Blogging}

You open a business with the hopes of longevity; you close your business with the promises of blissful retirement. Our story is neither of these. Just like life has twists and turns, ours life was no different. We put our life on display for the world to share in our wins and losses, in opening up a business. Picking up the pieces of our life as we knew it, living the dream of opening up your own business, to turn the corner and your business has an eviction sign, was just the beginning of our reality.
I work out in the field selling medicine all day everyday and I needed a creative outlet to share and inspire others in business, sales, and marketing. My hope for “The Chronicles” was to walk my readers through the opening and maintaining of a business. I used the blog to document events we hosted at the shop, business decisions my husband and I were making, and a small snap shot into our marriage as business partners plus soul mates for the world to read. Most people wouldn’t just put these things out there for the world to read, but, I wanted to put it out there to inspire others to continue with their pursuits of dreams.
The blog was meant to inspire entrepreneurialism plus, as a business owner, a look behind the scenes of things and happenings most people wouldn’t know day to day, unless they’ve opened a business.
Before blogging, I would just have random pieces of paper with journal entries because I would have a moment of inspiration, maybe of a sales training moment that I thought would help inspire. Also, it would allow me to just get the idea out of my head and onto paper. POOF! And just be done. But with all these random pieces of paper floating around, there was nothing that would keep thing in chronological order with pictures to refer back to and know what was happening at that time or place. Blogging allowed me to do just that.
After the closing of our shop, our blog ended up being our legacy. This was a way to keep us connected to all of our clients near and far. Once the franchise pulled our website offline, the joke was on them. We still had a way to stay connected to our customers plus, no matter where our customers are at in the world, with a click onto our blog, BAM! They know where the next chapter of our life is headed.
I look back on the past year of all the people we met that touched our life, and those customers became more than just customers. How could we just cut our losses and never keep in touch with these great people. We connected so many people in our community with friendships that will last a lifetime. With just a few clicks on our blog, all of our customers can click on an event and still remember the great times they had laughing and enjoying each other’s company in our presence. Those are memories that will stay with us, forever. The idea that one of my stories or events encourages another person that starts their own business to pick and chose things in our blog that was successful and that they in turn can gain success, is why this blog was born. If nothing else came out of the opening and closing of our business endeavor, the one business owner I helped in North Carolina, justified this blog as the “art of business” we wanted to achieve.
As we spin off into another chapter of our business life, blogging is just another way to network with others that share in that entrepreneurial spirit. As we spin off into the sunset on a mission to reinvent ourselves, we are picking up the pieces from the last storm. We will not be defeated. Salut! To new beginnings and not being afraid of reinventing yourself.

That is the Art of Business!
