can we just say, what a great time we had hosting this party! everyone who came through was so genuine in their congradulatory emotions. people were supporting our business all weekend long. it trully has been a blessing to have such supportive friends and family show up for such a special event.
here are just a few pictures from this weekend's events, that you might enjoy!
FRIDAY, JUNE 20, 2008

we had dj clay mixing the jazz, r&b, & ol'skool as we enjoyed the night away!

SATURDAY, JUNE 21, 2008

we, entertained our audience with a performance from the beautiful flamenco couple!

it was just so romantic to watch this couple perform. he watched her move and she moved so good against the string of the guitar. it was so great to watch, as this love story was on stage for us all to see!

SUNDAY, JUNE 22, 2008

19 year old J.Boykin, made some grown women cry. just listening to him play just set the tone for a great sunday afternoon.

j.boykin was all over the store playing and mingleing with the customers. it was a great experience. what an inspiration he is to all the kids his age. he had great showmanship. I hope he'll perform again for us soon!

meet the team!

this is us. enjoying a glass of "Cristal"
Ms. Mary Beth
Ms. Candace
Both of these girls sit near and dear to our heart. they help us function and get things done at the shop. we have been blessed with them both!

Ms. Candace is my cousin's girlfriend, and a great add to the store her smile lights up every room. she has just graduated with her BA from Loyola Marymount, and is working for us PT.
In the event that she finds a job in the career she is so focused on, we will have to wish her the best, but until then, "...she is my little pretty. and her little dog lola too!"
Ms. Mary Beth, is my in-laws neighbor up in the Eagle Glen Corona Area. She is one of the most outgoing hairdressers I know. no matter what is going on in her world, mary beth shows up every time, to work, with a smile and a joke. talk about personality...my girl has it!
and, she is sassy, too!
"what's the 411 ms. mary?"

2 more days until the "Grand Opening!"

official members of the corona chamber of commerce!

yahoo!

look outside our doors & you will see, the chambers grand opening sign looking at me!

the emotions are rrroooaring! our marriage is still holding strong...and we are gearing up for a successful weekend!

we have winemakers coming out on saturday to pour, entertainment, and a great set of surrounding supportive people. this has been socially a great event to talk about!

people are asking questions...the calls are coming in! wow...we have allot of supportive friends. we're talking to business', partnering up with other local owners, and just having as much of our pre-opening things to do list, get smaller and smaller.

the dream is alive! it's breathing. it's not just an idea anymore. we are actually in business. who would have thought.

you would actually think that with as many failures at launching a business, that we would have been terrified to try again.

nnnaaaahhhh!

this, i know, is very enjoyable.

to go from selling liquor, spirits, & wine, to owning a shop...we've come full circle. although, i 'am still building displays!!! however, i don't have to worry about a liquor survey route anymore.

{hat thrown off into the air}

that chapter has closed, but the turning point in the book is here.

stay tuned because...i'm wondering if there's a villain in this story just yet!

but until then, be looking out for the ribbon cutting ceremony for the

corona chamber of commerce.

a night to remember!

there has to be something said for expensive champagne! And this group, late one night decided to set the tone for the rest of the groups to come through.

everyone here on this night decided to pitch in some money and split a bottle of "Cristal"! No one could decided who gets to keep the bottle. And of course, this is when the tone was set.

why don't we sign the bottle and have vic & pris keep it as a momento. so, everyone that in on the fun signed it, with some kudos to our shop! we have a great group of people that come through the shop, and it's nice to see how important our success in the area has become their priority as well.

it's awesome!

Spanish Flamenco Guitarist....clap, clap, clap!

Saturday-June 21, 2008

We have Benjamin playing great music Live! with one of his

Flamenco dancers! Be prepared to get dancing.

I hear she loves the men that seem very shy.

I found Benjamin by chance. It just so happen that Borders Bookstore (our neighbors) was hosting their grand opening. Well, a customer came in and was so excited to see our shop. It just so happen, that she was 10 minutes early for his performance and decided to check us out. Just then, I was decorating the shop, and getting ready for a private event we were going to host. Well, I decided to walk over to Borders and see Mr. Benjamin play. He was busy...so I said I would go back once he was done playing.

Anyway, I forgot! No surprises there, right, Friends! (and...mom)

Well, 30min before our event begins, and the surprise is going to take off...in come walking Benjamin. Just like he looks in his picture. Glasses and all!

I said, "Self...who is this man, that cometh asking for your name?"

The cloud lifts over my eyes.....Oh! it's the Flamenco Guitarist that I was suppose to go and talk to....shoot! I forgot.

Needless to say, he was available...to perform, that is.

Perfect!

"Sax Sensation"

Sunday-June 22, 2008

19 year-old J. Boykin!

Need I say more. At 19 this guy has just blown my mind away! I was so excited that we would be able to host a native Riverside Resident, to help launch his career! How awesome is that!

Well, this story is even more fun! So, a customer walks into the shop, and is asking questions about the wine and how we breakdown the categories! Well, in that conversation Victor is having with her, I think he mentions that he's looking for artist to play live!

So, this customer, drops "J.Boykin's" name.

As most of you well know, I am a busy, busy, business woman...and I did not have time to stop and listen to what Victor was telling me at the time! I knew it had something to do with Grand Opening, I already talk to his manager, live music, jazz....! That's what I heard.

As, it's approaching closer and closer, I ask Victor, "can you give me the web address of the artist because it's getting close"... etc.,etc.

I jump on this... not to exciting"myspace".com profile to hear what J.Boykin, can do!

I seriously, closed my eyes as the profile loads....because I don't want to be swayed by anything other than what my ears can hear.

Granted, at this point, I don't know J. Boykin, don't know his age, his music, ....my space....little shady....!

Pris, close your eyes and imagine, Thorton Winery's Jazz Series!

And, just like that....BAM!

I think....Sunday Afternoon, this guy is perfect!

This guy can BLOW!

Nice.

Call his manager.

Negotiate.

Done...

Sunday Afternoon Jazz in Eastvale is accomplished!

great 1st weekend!

well, it is now sunday, and boy did we have a great weekend! we have met some of the finest people that have come through our shop, and have been blessed with all their presence. watching victor in his element, talking wine, his hospitality and making people smile has been the most rewarding.
we have so many people congratulating us on a job well done. can i just tell you...that is so rewarding! it's one thing to open up a business to supplement an income, but this goes beyond that! this is a business of enjoying people, their different lives and paths, and educating them on different wines and how they fit into each persons very own style. lives are fascinating, and we just get to enjoy everyone that walks through those doors.

choi!
